Q. What if I have a favorite work of an Old Master not shown on this website?
A. Email me about it. I can obtain an artist’s print of almost any known work by an Old Master and paint it for you. You can choose the dimensions. The turnaround time will vary depending on the complexity of the work, but generally will be 2-5 weeks.
Q. What will the painting “really” look like when I get it?
A. In most cases, the photograph of a painting displayed on this website is of the actual, individual piece, already painted, ready for immediate sale and shipment. It’s not just a “representation.” If the caption says “Available to Purchase,” that means you’re looking at the actual piece you’d receive.
Q. What are the prices?
A. That will vary, depending on whether it’s an existing painting or a special order, whether it’s picked up locally or shipped, how it is shipped, and whether you are purchasing more than one painting.
Q. How will it be shipped?
A. To minimize shipping charges, the canvas will be removed from the stretcher strips, rolled, and sent to you in a shipping tube. This is the customary approach used by most producers of larger oil paintings. Your local frame shop can re-stretch the canvas for you and, if you desire, have it framed. If you prefer that the painting not be rolled and instead left mounted on its stretcher strips, it will need to be custom-crated and shipping charges will be quoted to you accordingly.
Q. What if I am picking the painting up locally in San Francisco?
A. In that case, the painting obviously can remain mounted on its stretcher strips, as long as you have the proper vehicle/cargo space to transport it.
Q. Can I actually come see your inventory in San Francisco?
A. Yes, by appointment. You can also request more detailed photos of any of my paintings, which I’ll be happy to email to you.
Q. Can I “rent” paintings for a special event, and can you deliver them?
A. This comes up now and then, and yes, this could be worked out.
Q. How do I get answers to individual questions not addressed here?
A. Email me at Russ75k@gmail.com and we can communicate via either email or telephone.
